When I started the Summer Box program, my rosacea was doing its “being unpredictable” thing--super-red some days, not so red others, but annoying all the time. Now--like I said last week, the rosacea has stabilized with little noticeable redness on most days. I’ve also noticed that the Summer Box is amazing at taming my hormonal acne! I think my favourite product in the Summer Box is Janah’s Strawberry Exfoliating Toner (coming soon!). It just totally amplifies the power of all the other products that go on after, and smells just like strawberry seeds, which is my favourite scent. It’s so good for oil control, too, and works to resurface your skin so you always have a fresh new canvas ready to face (get it??) the day.

My skin has a fresh, lit from within glow but remains matte in texture. It’s difficult to find the right regimen that will leave your skin healthy and radiant looking without a dewy finish and/or sticky/slippery texture. When I touch my face, I feel my skin, not the skincare. Not only is my skin happy with all the nutrients I’ve been feeding it, but I use less products! My daytime skincare routine has been cut in half and my night time regimen has been simplified. The biggest changes I’ve seen over the past five weeks have been, first and foremost, a serious reduction of milia on three different areas of my face: I had them on either side of my nose, on the edges of my mouth, and on my chin — the ones on my nose are completely gone, as are the ones on either side of my mouth, and the ones on my chin have reduced by half.

It has really been a joy so far just to feel, smell, and see the changes that the summer box makes in my skin each week. Transitioning into summer with so few breakouts, bright skin, and no sun burns thus far has been a really nice way to say “hello” to summer. The introduction of the products, the ritual of the routine, and the reviewing process has really helped me gain a sense of responsibility for my skin and the process than I probably ever had before, and this has been extremely beneficial in effectively healing my skin over this time.

As I move closer to using the summer box for one month, the more convinced I am that the summer box was made just for me: a fifty-eight-year-old person, with wrinkles, combo-skin, and rosacea. The summer box allows me all the flexibility I need for moving between different climates in one day, e.g., hot and humid at the beach and a cool and air conditioned workspace, while working wonders on my skin! While summer box is filled with hard working products, it is the delicate summery scents and textures that I look forward to in my morning and evening routines.

As I’ve been consistently, systematically using the products from the Summer Box, I’ve noticed that my rosacea has stabilized somewhat. Even on days when it’s super-hot, I don’t get the excessive redness in my cheeks that I used to (of course, I still limit my time in the sun and wear SPF every day). Another thing that’s really great about using the products is that I don’t have nearly as many unpleasant skin surprises anymore. Although I do get the occasional hormonal breakout, I find that my skin looks balanced and plump day after day. It’s great to have that feeling of security!

Over the past three days, things have definitely gotten markedly better. This morning, actually, I woke up with some of the best skin I've had in months! The bumps on my cheeks had flattened out nicely – there was no more pus and gunk underneath waiting to surprise me, and everything was almost completely smooth.

I’m really happy about how the Summer Box is working with my skin! It really seems to have products that everyone can use: there’s not a single product that excludes a certain skin type, for example; it even has a dry shampoo and most people have hair, right? It’s a superbly well-curated and universal box. I’m in Perth at the moment, where it is not actually summer, and my Summer Box routine still works like a charm: it provides enough hydration to battle cold winds, still keeps my acne and oil-production in check, and continues to deliver that killer glow!
