We named this serum after the Chinese Moon Goddess Chang E (嫦娥) to represent the yin energetic elements within the serum: two types of silver, three types of pearl, marine collagen, aloe vera and PHAs (polyhydroxy acids). Each element is designed to calm and soothe reddened, irritated and inflamed skin, which makes it ideal for acne or any kind of irritation, and to give you bright, pearlescent skin.
Ingredient Deep Dive:
✨Two types of silver (colloidal silver and genuine silver flake). Colloidal silver is used in wound dressings because it helps to speed wound healing.
✨Three types of pearl extracts. Ground pearl has been used for hundreds of years in East Asia to achieve bright, pearlescent skin.
Pearls are potent antioxidants, containing 17 amino acids, minerals and proteins such as conchioline which helps replenish and rebuild the skin's natural collagen. Used for brightening and evening skin tone.
✨Marine Collagen. Derived from fish scales and bones, marine collagen is a smaller particle size than bovine collagen, making it more bioavailable
✨PHA (polyhydroxy acid) in the form of Gluconolactone. PHAs have a larger molecule size than the better known AHAs (alphahydroxy acid) and BHA (betahydroxy acid). This means it provides gentle exfoliation with less irritation than other acids.

I wanted to like this so badly, and the few drops that I tried were interesting, but unfortunately, when this item arrived, it was already completely dried out, leaving about 5 drops-worth at the bottom of the bottle...

OK I'll be honest -- I kind of wanted Chang E to not work. I had already tried APH and I was hoping that they would be "about the same" and I could just use APH, which is significantly more affordable! However, when i switch away from Chang E to APH, I can feel the difference. I have atopic skin that easily gets slightly red rashy and hive-y if it is even a little bit disturbed, and Chang E may look like water, but it is just so soothing and calming. It doesn't hurt at all when I pat it on, even on my most reactive atopic days. With sustained daily use, my skin is just so much calmer and doesn't get disrupted nearly as easily. I guess I'll just have to keep paying for the Chang E. ;-)

I think problem is I have too many SB serums! I could layer all of them and use them consistently but then I'd run out of products much sooner, so then I try to spread them out which means I'm not consistent, which could explain why I'm not raving about Chang E's. I feel like it is too similar to APH. I don't know if I'll repurchase after I run out.

Putting this out there in case there are any other sufferers of body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) out there - I have been picking for more than 20 years at this point and regularly used to give myself huge, bloody patches that couldn’t heal no matter what I used on them because of my constant reopening.
About 1.5 years ago I got my hands on Chang E’s serum and my life has completely changed!
No pictures because of my intense embarrassment, but I have no open wound spots on my body now! I can actually go out in public without a inch thick layer of foundation to cover my face! It takes a bad night of picking and basically erases the impact by the next morning, which has given me hope and the will to actually start picking less. I actually have faith that with therapy and other supports, at some point I will stop picking.
And that started with Chang E and the miracle it did for my skin.
So if you’re a fellow BFRBer, I could no more strongly recommend running to buy some Chang E’s, like yesterday!!!
