All About Carol!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Hi! I am Carol! I am 39 this year and live in Singapore where it is hot and humid throughout the year. My kind of ‘winter’ is practically just super dry air-conditioning and heavy rainstorms every other day. I have an eleven year old daughter who is my life and my light. Those of you who saw me fumbling my way through my Spring Box reviewing earlier in March this year may remember the mad maniacal laughter whenever she joins me! I stumbled onto Sabbatical Beauty end of November 2017, and sufficed to say, I have turned into a snob when it comes to off brand skincare.

What results have you seen with Sabbatical Beauty products? Has your skin changed? If so, how?

Oh the changes! I have never ever experienced real ‘effects’ in the past from using any skincare products but with SB? YESSSSSSSS!!! The first time I saw results was when I testedDorian Gray Serum for Spring Box. The dedicated use of this serum lightened the one stubborn dark spot I have on my cheek in just under three weeks!!! And since then, I have seen howRed Wine Pressed Serum hydrates my face but keep the oil in check, and howPumpkin Spiced Latte plumps my skin up. It’s like with every box, there’s bound to be a miracle item that works for me. And that being said, who cares if Singapore is hot and sunny, I am very sure something in the Winter Box WILL work too!

How would you describe your skin type?

My skin type used to be ONLY oily, but ever since I started usingStrawberry Cocktail Exfoliating Toner, my face has gone combination on me. I am still plagued by the eternal enlarged and clogged pores, which is why I am in need of hydration so that my skin will not overcompensate the dryness by over spewing oil and sebum to keep me moisturised.

What kind of climate will you be living in during the review period?

In a nutshell? HOT. WET. HUMID. Yep, no where near Winter, but my work place is similar to the Arctic Circle because again, we overcompensate the heat with air conditioning. And I am also hoping to see how the products that have been curated for winter especially, work in a different climate and region!

What results are you hoping to see using the Winter Box?

There have been hits and misses when I play with certain combinations of SB products. Some days I get plump and hydrated skin in the morning and my pores look decent, other days? Not so much. With Winter Box, I am hoping that I can get the kind of gentle exfoliation AND hydration my skin needs to banish my blackheads and clogged pores away!
