She's a Sabbatical Beauty: Cameron Glover

Cameron Glover
Today we're thrilled to feature Cameron Glover, one of Adeline's former students and now a Tech.Co fellow who has written for publications like Ms. Magazine, Ebony.com, The Mary Sue and More! She's a pretty impressive young woman!

Tell us about you!
My name is Cameron - I’m a New Jersey native, working currently as a fulltime freelance writer & studying to get my certification in sex education. Outside of that, I’m really passionate about comics, reading tons of nonfiction, horror anime, and digital media.
What makes you angry?
Daily oppression. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how gender expression and misogyny operates in our society - particularly with how it devalues women and femmes from having the freedom to live our lives outside of sexism. Oppression is fascinating in the way that it changes along with our identity, it’s so frustrating when people don’t think it’s important to be aware of it.
What makes you happy?
Face masks (especially the Camellia Rose mask <3), thrift store book shopping, learning new things. Also, pizza. Because life is about balance.
If you were an SB product, which product would you be, and why?
The Camellia Rose mask - it smells good, packs a punch, and can be the highlight of your day. I like to think that I have the same effect on people.
What’s your desert island SB product, and why?
Hands down, the Hydra Serum. I love the consistency, how well it absorbs into my skin, and how much of a difference it makes in my skincare routine.
What is your favorite thing about your skin?
How much it gives back to me. I’ve recently started to pay more attention to skincare - regularly exfoliating, taking the time to replenish and moisturize it, and treat issues as they come up - and have noticed how much even ten minutes makes. Also, I used to hate that I look so youthful, but now I’m starting to embrace it.
