My 2020 reformulation of our original Sake Kasu mask means that we’ve increased the concentration of Sake Kasu in it to over 80% — meaning that the skin brightening & glow getting effects of our crowd favorite mask has become even more potent.

I developed my Sake Kasu mask because in many Asian countries, sake is seen to be a miracle skincare ingredient, with its anti-aging properties and ability to treat discoloration and hyperpigmentation. Sake kasu are the lees leftover from brewing sake, basically the solid stuff left over after the liquid has been expressed from the fermented rice. Sake kasu is the base ingredient of numerous Korean and Japanese skincare brands.

The miracles of sake kasu were first discovered when a company noticed that older sake brewers would have young looking and clear hands, while their faces were lined and discolored. Sake kasu’s magic is derived from its high concentration of kojic acid, which is formed during the process of brewing sake.

Use this mask when you have a special event to attend for a dramatic glow-up. It also works well as an overnight spot treatment. Just dab a little bit on your spot after cleansing, serums and moisturizing.

  • Brightening
  • Glow getting
  • Evens pigmentation
  • Helps redness
  • Get that lit from within look

Once or twice a week, apply on a cleansed face. Leave on 20-30 mins, then wash off. For a spot treatment, dab a little bit on your spot after cleansing, serums and moisturizing.

Love it!

After reading the positive reviews, I bought the travel size and love it! I do the full mask weekly and spot treatments here & there for areas that have more discoloration. After each mask session, my face glows and my complexion evens out. I actually love the smell (I may be biased because of my Japanese heritage :)) as it's very refreshing. You can tell it's a high quality sake based on the scent and texture. I will definitely be upgrading to the full size in the future.

Love love love

I love this mask so much!! I bought the full size even before I finished the travel size. after using it a few times I knew it was perfect for me. Its chunky and a weird texture and it's kinda hard to put on at first but it dries nice and smooth. Once you've used it a few times you'll be a master at applying it. I think its smells nice not to strong and it really makes my skin glow and so soft.. my skin just looks happy when I use this.

Definitely does what it's advertised to do!

Much as I love the benefits/effects of fermented products, I'm sadly not so much a fan of the smell. This is much more of an "it's not you, it's me" thing though, and that being said, it does make my skin super soft afterward and definitely seems to help with redness/inflammation! I've been using it more as an "all-over-the-face" mask, but the texture is bit grainy and thus a bit harder to work with/apply smoothly. I'll likely be switching over to using it as a spot treatment for more ease of use.

Routine Staple

This mask is a staple in my routine and after only a few uses, I'm even more in love with the new formulation. I use it as an over night spot treatment on pimples, and as awash off mask all over my face to help fade acne scarring and discoloration.

For Goodness Sake, Give this a Try

This leaves my skin feeling like it's covered in silk. It seems to absorb oil like it belongs on an Arctic Ocean clean-up crew. The smell reminds me of the baijiu-laden Neimenggu banquets I attended in the wake of a friend's wedding, but unlike the aftermath of those festivities, the results of Sake Kasu are well-worth it.
